Antique Romanesque Carnelian Goddess Intaglio Ring

After the style worn in Roman times: a confidently sized antique 19th century ring featuring a skilfully hand carved Carnelian intaglio depicting a Romanesque Goddess. Smoothly worn with pride, this wonderful antique unisex Intaglio ring has historic character to spare!

Worn to signal your love of history and appreciation of the Classics; the rich 14ct yellow gold is a gorgeous colour which is warm to the wear and the rounded mount along with the nicely chunky band all just gorgeous! She has her origins in the European Austro-Hungarian Empire between 1867-1918, where much historical revivalist jewellery was made for both the well-to-do citizens and for export as the style was very fashionable across Europe and the quality of work was very good. We do know that this ring was bought to the UK when her family fled on the collapse of the regime in 1918. 

Stone: russety hued semi translucent Carnelian. The seal measures 21mm by 15.3mm across. 

Ring Size: The ring size is 'N/6.5', but simple to adjust for fit. 

Metal: 14ct yellow Gold. Stamped to the inside of the band with an Austro-Hungarian Empire stamp. Weighing 8.35g (inc stone)
