A precious beauty from a time when real Pearls were rare and only for the wealthy, this luminous antique hand blown glass pearl is an example of an art long gone and as such a scarce survivor.

Delicate and mysteriously enchanting in that it is totally unique. Entirely crafted by hand using a fascinating and ancient technique, each lustrous bead was laboriously handmade; first by hand blowing the glass sphere or pear shape, then lining it with silvery liquid 'essence d'orient', made from fish scales, finally filling each shape with wax in order to stabilise and strengthen it, giving the convincing weight.  

As you can imagine, they are enormously fragile and it is somewhat of a miracle to have survived these centuries; consequently this rare, delicate earring should be worn with care. We imagine it worn a la Francis Drake...

In most case the boxes are for display only but a nice quality modern reproduction box will accompany this piece.

Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.

Payment is made securely through Shopify with a credit or debit card, or alternatively via bank transfer or Paypal. Once payment has been received, you will receive an email confirmation of your order and we will begin to arrange delivery of your purchase.

All items come with a presentation box and items over £500 with an insurance valuation. In the rare instance that the original box is available, this will be included. We can also giftwrap your special purchase.

Returns or exchanges are simple, should your purchase be unsuitable for any reason.
