With a genteel and discreet aura, this antique late Victorian Sardonyx signet ring is a most special find! A distinguished antique heraldic style shield shape set with a delicious layered Sardonyx (which when carved with a design will show the darker layer contrasted against the pale surface).
The shoulders are ornamented with Arts & Crafts inspired decoration fitting for a ring destined to hold a family crest. Of nicely mellow 18ct yellow Gold, the hallmark was struck in 1890 but any other details are worn away with time.
Perhaps best suited for a smaller hand it is a much more petite scale than many similar rings.
Stone: Layered Sardonyx (we show as is, but the stone can be polished for brighter shine if desired). The stone measures 8mm at deepest: top to base

Ring Size: 'R' or '8.5', but we can alter to fit in our workshop.
